How To Clean Sunbrella Fabric Stains

When you choose Chimes, we offer a range of Sunbrella upholstery fabrics that complement both your rattan and rope furniture. But you might be wondering how to clean the furniture should it get dirty. In this article, we will give you some helpful tips to clean your fabric, so it looks as good as new.

Create A Soapy Vinegar Cleanser

At Chimes Home and Garden, we offer a variety of cleaning solutions that will work for yo If you want to create a Sunbrella stain remover from scratch, a soap and vinegar solution will do the trick. Mix 60ml of dishwasher soap with 80ml of white vinegar and a gallon of water. Shake the mixture in a spray bottle then spray it over the area.

After you have done this, rub the mixture with a sponge and let it dry out. This will ensure it looks as good as new.

What Happens When You See A New Spillage on Your Sunbrella Outdoor Fabric?

When you see a new spill on your outdoor fabric, the first thing you should do is wipe any dirt or grime off the fabric. Use a damp cloth and dishwasher detergent to blot the liquid.

This will test the stain to see how serious it is. Next, spray on a mild solution of soap and water. Next, rinse the fabric to remove the soap residue, and dry it out. It is a simple and effective way of getting rid of light stains. This method requires regular maintenance, so clean the stain every week for a thorough finish, bringing the dirt to the surface of the fabric.

Oil and Ketchup Based Stains

If you have oil-based stains, a different treatment is needed. It is a simple home remedy. Apply cornstarch, and remove with a straight edge tool. Then clean it with a teaspoon of dishwasher liquid, 250 ml of water, and a strong degreaser.

Bleach is effective for ketchup and mustard based stains. Using a cup of bleach or a bleach pen will help remove any discolouration, so it will look immaculate. This solution is also perfect if you want to get rid of any seemingly unwashable stains such as shoe polish, suntan lotion, and even tree sap.

Cleaning Removable Fabric

If you are looking to clean removable fabric, there are a number of easy ways to do this. This is ideal for outdoor upholstery because it is susceptible to tough conditions. Some removable casings can be treated in the washing machine. To do this, close all the cushions’ zippers, then wash them on a cold delicate cycle. Use a normal amount of detergent, but for serious stains, add an extra cup including stain remover. This should treat the stains, but if they don’t wash off, repeat the cycle.

To clean stains yourself, they can be washed by hand as well. After removing the fabric, soak it in a combination of ¼ cup of mild water and detergent. Using a light sponge or a damp cloth will reduce the stains’ effect. Finally, you can remove the soap residue and air dry it, resulting in a thorough finish.

How to Clean Mould and Mildew

These stains can be especially tough on your fabric as they build up over time. These strains take longer to get rid of, but there are ways to combat them. Get 1 cup of bleach and water, then spray it onto all areas of the fabric. By letting it soak in for 15 minutes, the combination wl work its magic.

After the stain has been aggravated, wipe it clean with a bristle brush and soapy water, then it will look as good as new. Then, rinse it with soap and water and air dry. It will look immaculate and ready to use.

Cleaning Tougher Wine Stains

Some stains, such as wine, are extremely tough to get rid of. Cleaning the stains requires some due care and attention. First of all, spray the stain with soapy water to saturate it. Then, spray it again with clean water which will rinse the soap out. For a deeper cleaning, use a vacuum to treat the area.
