The mains-operated design simply needs to be plugged in to light up the warm white LED lights built-in to John's jacket. Not only does this figure light up and play music but John is also brought to life thanks to the moving arms that makes him appear as though he is drumming. John has a built-in timer function that will start automatically when you switch the figure on and light up for 6 hours and then off for 18 hours, helping to save power. The timer function cannot be switched off, however, if you need to restart the timer, simply turn John off, wait 5 seconds and then restart.
