The base is made from real black marble with veins and swirls patterning its smooth surface. The copper coloured bulb fitting introduces a warm metallic tone to the lamp's cool Nordic aesthetic. An Edison-style bulb with its distinctive filament is protected by the removable glass cloche, the latter's rounded lines complementing the base.
